THE PLAN:
3-5 miles of leisurely lake paddling on DeGray Lake’s lower (reregulation) lake, which is also a waterfowl refuge. We will paddle near grasses and reeds and along forested shores. We will look at Buzzard’s Roost, the cypress trees, and a dam or two. There have always been lots of different birds in this area, including bald eagles, egrets, herons, hawks, kingfishers, and sandpipers. Let's see what we can find in the winter. Bring your binoculars and long lenses!
