What is this?
Houston Canoe Club will participate in the Trash Bash in its on the water iteration. We will paddle 2 miles or so on Armand Bayou, cleaning as we paddle and as a reward, have a free (hot dog, typically) lunch, a cool t-shirt, and raffle afterwards. Of course there will be official HCC miles accrued if you register on the HCC site and/or let me know.
Galveston Bay Foundation coordinates the site, so you must officially register for the event on their website: https://galvbay.org/event/2023-trash-bash/ . On the registration site itself, click on "Reserve a Spot" List Houston Canoe Club as your "company", and be sure to add a "yes" to "Will you be bringing your own watercraft?" As in all these kinds of events, there is a waiver involved too and you can find that and additional volunteer information at: https://www.trashbash.org/volunteers.html . It would be helpful to me to have you print out and sign the waiver in advance but no worries if you don't get that done, I'll have paper copies at the putin.
