Since you appetite for bird counting has no doubt been whetted by your participation in yesterday&#39;s San Jacinto Wilderness CBC come on out and do it again on the Old River CBC. This count typically covers about 15 miles of Pickett&#39;s Bayou, the Cutoff, the Trinity River, and occasionally Mack Bayou and the Sulfur Cut. We will meet up at Trinity River NWR, Pickett&#39;s Bayou boat ramp and proceed to count whatever flies for the rest of the day.<br /><br />Do both counts and you are over halfway to your 100 club miles by January 2. Add in the Texas winter 100 K and you take the rest of the year off, with over 120 miles in the bag in January, plus you&#39;ll have a great start on your personal big year birding.
