What is this?
Co-leaders Joe Coker and Natalie Wiest will guide you through the cypress swamp at Champion Lake. Expect to paddle 7-9 miles at a slow pace. Bring a light lunch to enjoy in your boat as there is typically no dry land to disembark at the midpoint of our trip. This lovely park is a part of the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge. Don't believe your GPS if it is taking you to the formal headquarters in the town of Liberty. We will launch from the Champion Lake boat ramp.

Canoe Club Members should have an up to date waiver to join the trip. Attendees who are not members of the American Canoe Association will have to pay a $10 fee and sign a waiver. Personal floatation devices ("life jackets") must be worn.
