Meet at Lake Catherine Boat Ramp at 10:00AM
Prep boats and get wet by NLT 10:30
THE PLAN:
Paddle east from the boat ramp out of Slunger Bay, turning south into the main lake channel. Continue to the mouth of Falls Creek (where the western shore starts its slow turn to the east) and paddle up the creek as far as we can go. Get out, take our lunch and drinks to the Falls on Falls Creek – Enjoy – maybe meet the HSV Paddlers Club, who should be coming from Jack’s Landing to the east of us if they stick to their plan - retrace to Lake Catherine Boat Ramp.
EXPECT: Moderately high temperatures (forecast says a high of 89 – feels like 95, but we’ll be on the water)
Lots of sun (no way around this)
3 miles of flatwater paddling
Wind 5 mph from the south (pushing us back to the take-out when it is strongest – I paid extra for this)
BRING:
PFD, paddle, kayak
Hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, sturdy shoes to walk to the falls
Lunch, water/drinks
