San Bernard River at Bates Allen Park

Paddle through old growth cypress forest along the San Bernard River. We will paddle upstream and/or downstream of Bates Allen Park, depending on conditions. The park’s boat launch is approximately 1.6 miles off US Hwy 59, south of the town of Kendleton (roughly 50 miles from central Houston). Estimated paddling distance is 6-8 miles. Trip size is limited, and registration is required. To register, contact Tom Douglas at baymail@sbcglobal.net or (832) 752-4166. A detailed trip information sheet will be sent by email to registered participants. Paddlers must wear a USCG-approved PFD while on the water. If you are not a member of the ACA, there will be a $10 ACA event membership fee.
