Letting Buffalo Bayou wait for another day. 20.5 miles on a historic stretch of the Brazos. See the rock Sam Houston sat on while watching the steam boat Yellowstone ferry his army across the Brazos at Bernardo. Or a reasonable facsimile there of.<br /><br />Put in and take out are moderate, not overly steep and fairly firm. There is one rocky area, with a good clear channel on river right. No other notable hazards on this stretch of river.<br /><br />Plan is for a brief stop roughly every five to seven miles.<br /><br />No rain predicted, high is expected to be around 97 degrees F. <br /><br />Please contact the organizer if you have not done this sort of distance in the heat before.
