What is this?
We need to get back on the water! This will be a brief, 4-6 mile paddle on Armand Bayou from Bay Area Park. Predicted winds from NE to E, so intended route is to head to Horsepen Bayou as an out and back trip. Bring a picnic lunch to eat afterward at Bay Area Park. It's predicted to be a warm day so park will likely be crowded. Usual caveats apply - you must wear your PFD, bring plenty of fluids to drink. We still need to be mindful of COVID distancing requirements. Masks not required per order of our Governor and of course this is an outdoor activity. This is a good trip for beginners but be aware the wind could come up as high as 10 mph per current predictions. AND, the pesky waiver and insurance thing. If you do not have a current HCC waiver on file, you will be required to sign one (can be downloaded and printed from the website or I"ll have extras). Also, if you are not a bona fide, card carrying ACA (American Canoe Club) member we now require a $10 payment. I hope you can join Ellen and me, please contact me if you have additional questions.
