Event Calendar - Event View

Join us for a picnic and paddle on Brooks Lake in Sugar Land.  The location will be adjacent to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel at the lake.  The put in near the picnic location is straightforward. The lake itself is free of obstructions and suitable for all levels of ability. Oyster Creek connects to the lake and it's just a short paddle away from the picnic location.  September 14th will be near the full moon, and Brooks Lake is a nice sheltered location to enjoy a moonlight paddle. This will also be a great location to take turns trying out some different boats.

Dinner be served around 6:00 PM. Food will be pot-luck style. The club will provide entrees (flat breads and chicken enchiladas) and cold soft drinks. We ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert to share. Please do not bring any alcoholic beverages or glass containers.  The hotel has a liquor license, so if you need a drink you can go inside and enjoy one there.

We will be outside, so bring lawn chairs, camp tables, shades, a cooler. hat, sun lotion and anything else you might need to enjoy the outdoor environment. Bathrooms will be available in the Marriott Hotel. We're paying them to provide us with tables, entrees, and cold drinks, so they won't complain about us going inside to use their bathrooms. There are rows of trees along the waterline, so natural shade will be available.
