July 6th, 2016
Bayland Park Community Center
Recorder: Fran Wilcox
Honey Leveen called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

Those in attendance were Natalie Wiest, Bob Naeger, Fran Wilcox, John Rich, Honey Leveen, Terry Herdlicka, Harmon Everett. Frank Ohrt was not in attendance.
  1. • Treasurer’s Report – Bob Neager reported that the club has $4,864 dollars.
The club also has $28,061 in a CD.
    • Bob stated that the budget is a bit behind this year as projections for membership
      are lower than expected.
    • Bob will be moving to Arizona soon. Kent Walters has agreed to fill Bob’s place
      on the Board.

  2. Membership Report – Terry Herdlicka reported that we have 2 new members – one from the website and one from our meetings.

  3. Trip Report – Natalie Wiest reported that there were 4 paddles in June:
    • 6/11 Turtle Bayou Tom Douglas, Trip Leader 17 paddlers
    • 6/13 Bayucos Island San Antonio Bay Foundation
    • 6/18 Whites’ Bayou Kent Walters 9 paddlers
    • 6/25 Armand Bayou Paul Woodcock 9 paddlers
    • At this time, there is one upcoming trip on Aug 20th
    • Oyster Creek Evening Paddle with Phillip and Tisha Matticks.

Trips need to be posted at least 3 days in advance, with 3 or more paddlers and an HCC trip coordinator must send the report to Natalie for the trip to be counted as official. Trip information is to be sent to Natalie, who handles the trip listing and post trip paddling list which is sent to ACA.

Waivers must be signed and current for the club to have the benefit of the ACA liability insurance and the trip needs to be posted. If there is a non-member (those who have not signed the waiver) on the trip a $5.00 fee will be assessed for that person as per ACA regulations. Harmon had discussed that ACA will sell $5.00 tickets that can be used instead of handling money at the trip put- in.
