HOUSTON CANOE CLUB GENERAL MEETING

7:09 The Commodore called the meeting to order, and introduced the club officers. He asked for volunteers to serve as officers for the next year.

7:14 The Commodore gave the Safety Minute talk, about the dangers of stepping on nails, and there was a discussion of sepsis.

7:23 Honey Leveen talked about the 50th Anniversary party. Joe Coker, Fraser Baker, and Christy Long talked about various aspects of the party, and asked for volunteers.

7:46 The Commodore suggested that the club skip the next month's meeting. He then withdrew the suggestion after mutinous remarks.

7:48 The Bo'sun gave the membership report and introduced Angela Finnegan, a new member.

7:52 The Fleet Captain gave the mileage report. Will Blumentritt and Terri Morgan gave trip reports. No future trips were announced. Forrest Dunn described a new put-in in the Brazoria NWR.

8:15 The Vice-Commodore introduced Wes Ferguson, author of "Running the River", who spoke about paddling the Sabine River, and some of his adventures with the local wildlife.
