Fort Bend Green is an organization that has been created to facilitate the planning and development of green space in Fort Bend County.

One of the initiatives that Fort Bend Green is working on is The Lower Brazos Canoe Trail, which is a collaboration of Fort Bend and Brazoria Counties to develop a canoe trail on the Brazos River as an integral part of 600+ miles of multi-use trails and green space circling the greater Houston area. The entire project will ultimately link the natural beauty of the region’s wilderness with a series of preserves, parks, waterways, nature centers and trails.

Another effort of Fort Bend Green is the development of a Recreation Master Plan for the Brazos River Corridor. The Committee is seeking broad community input into a plan for the river. A short online survey has been created to collect the wishes of County residents and folks from outside the county that might enjoy using the Brazos River for recreation, or that have feelings about conserving this special river resource.

You can take this survey by clicking here.
