Data pages for the USGS gages that we have become so accustomed to (now referred to as “Legacy Real-Time Pages”) are in the process of being phased out and replaced with “Next Generation Monitoring Location Pages.” The layout of the new pages will require some getting used to, but some of the new features will be welcome. For one thing, the new pages are easier to access by cell phone. They also show an outline of the river’s watershed boundaries right on the map of the station’s location.
At the website https://waterdata.usgs.gov/blog/realtime-pages-replacement/, you can test drive the beta version of one of the new pages and also link to a video describing the new portal. An additional “how to” video is expected soon.
