Just up on our official Event Calendar, registration information for the short day paddle from Cedar Hill Park to warm us up to food and fellowship afterwards at our Christmas Party. Yes, since it is an on-the-water event, there will be waivers involved and the usual requirement that if you are not both an HCC AND American Canoe Association card-carrying member, you will be required to pay the $5 Paddle America fee. Special to 2020, HCC COVID waiver required too. Not to worry, I'll have waivers available so we will be legal.
Looks like the weather will cooperate, may even break 60 degrees. Do dress warmly, not a bad idea to have extra warm/dry clothes in a waterproof bag, PFDs required. You'll need to mask up at putin and takeout - surely you have a fine Santa impersonation mask that you would like to show off, covers both mouth and nose. Water level today is about 11' so we should have plenty to paddle on even with a few days of north winds between now and then. Gee, it's been a long year, let's get out on the water. Registration required.
This will be quite brief as we want to be back to Cedar Hill Park for on-land partying by 1 p.m. Meet at the putin at 9:30 and we'll plan to be on the water paddling away by 10 a.m. It's a flatwater easy paddle, great to check out that boat you've ordered for pre-Christmas delivery, or dust off the one that's been sitting in your garage all spring/summer/fall.
