More than 120 specific plans to improve water quality in our region’s waterbodies, which are overseen by the Bacteria Implementation Group (the “BIG”), are now in their implementation phase. One issue discussed during the Spring 2023 meeting was whether Recreational Water Quality Criteria need to be updated to take into account modern technology. A workshop on this topic will be planned.
