East Fork San Jacinto River Watershed Partnership Meeting – Oct 19

 

What: The East Fork San Jacinto River Watershed Partnership invites you to attend a public meeting to discuss the development of a watershed protection plan for the East Fork of the San Jacinto River and its tributaries.

When: Thursday October 19 at 2:00 PM.

Where: The hybrid meeting will be in person at the Montgomery County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office at 9020 Airport Road in Conroe, TX and hosted virtually via Zoom.

East Fork San Jacinto River Watershed Partnership Meeting – August 30

 

What: At this meeting, the East Fork San Jacinto River Watershed Partnership will discuss implementation strategies to be included in the Watershed Protection Plan. The plan will outline how to improve water quality by reducing sources of pollution in the East Fork of the San Jacinto River and its tributaries. Everyone with an interest in the future of the East Fork is invited. By attending, you can ensure that the voice of paddlers is heard.

When: Wednesday August 30 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Where: Virtually via Zoom.

Register: Registration is required to join the Zoom meeting. Please register at https://eastforkpartnership.weebly.com/. An email with further instructions for joining the meeting will be sent after registration.  

What: A meeting of interested stakeholders to develop a voluntary plan that will protect and enhance water quality in the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. Work on a Watershed Protection Plan is underway. One current issue is the effect of On-Site Sewage Facilities (OSSFs) on water quality.

When: July 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

A map of the watershed is posted at https://eastforkpartnership.weebly.com/about.html and you can get an idea of how the watershed is affected by OSSFs by visiting the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s OSSF Information System at https://datalab.h-gac.com/ossf/. To view the locations of individual OSSFs, you will need to zoom in quite a bit. To begin, I recommend clicking on the icon for the Layer List and selecting only “Water Features” and “Permitted OSSFs by Permit Age”.
