On Saturday March 11, a total of 323 persons in 216 boats participated in the Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta. Due to loss of access to last year’s starting site, the 2023 race was run on an 8.8-mile closed loop course between Allen’s Landing and the railroad bridge at Terminal Street. Here, the bayou is wider, the current is slow, and the banks are more heavily industrialized.
With a wide variety of boats classified into 19 different classes, the times varied all of the way from 1:07:01 up to 3:55:37. The complete list of paddlers and times is posted online at the Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s website, https://buffalobayou.org/.
