A new series on KUHF 88.7 FM entitled “Below the Waterlines” is addressing the subject of flooding in Houston, now that five years have passed since Hurricane Harvey. Two of the programs have run already, and the next will be broadcast on August 16.

August 2:
How Houston has changed five years after Hurricane Harvey – Flooding’s effects on individuals, rebuilding with flood-resilient structures, and the challenges of accessing funding for projects.
August 9:
Five years after Harvey, a solution to the flood threat from the Addicks and Barker Reservoirs remains a long way off – Large engineering solutions such as tunnels will take years to complete.
August 16:
How Flood Control Can Go Green – Smaller, distributed projects are more environmentally benign, and will begin to yield results much sooner.
You can hear the shows live on KUHF 88.7 FM Tuesday mornings at 9:00 or listen to the podcasts at https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/below-the-waterlines/.
