Paddle Trips on the Clendar!
Author Last Post

Lots of stuff on the calendar sign up for any or all of them!

August 14- Brazos River FM 1458 to FM 1093. 23.5 miles on an entertaining stretch of the river. A few mild rapids, and a bit of mud. Lots of fossil hunting. Steep put in and take out.

August 18- Brazos River SH 159 to FM 529 20.5 miles on a historic stretch of the river. Steep put in and take out but a pleasant stretch of the Brazos.

August 22- Buffalo Bayou, SH 6 to Sabine Street. See the entire Buffalo Bayou Paddling Trail (more or less). A few fun little riffles, and a look at nature right in the city.

August 28- Lost River 10 training/recon. A preview of the short version of the Lost River 50. If you'd like to try racing, this one is a great way to start. If you are thinking of doing the 50, this will help you figure out if you have 40 more miles in you. Leisurely pace.

Other peoples things:

August 21- Clear Creek Paddle Race on Clear Creek in LaPorte. This is a 4 mile up and back, anything that floats kind of event and intended to just be fun, so don't worry if you don't have a sleek race boat, come out and race in whatever you have.

August 21- Up and Back Race on the South Llano, starting in Junction. Race 15 miles upstream through fast flat water, slow sections and class 2 rapids, then turn around and come down again. Guaranteed to make you feel like you've done something. Finish in 12 hours and you qualify for the drawing for the cash pool.

Let's get out there on the rivers!

"He who hears the rippling of rivers in these degenerate days will not utterly despair." H.D. Thoreau
