You are warmly invited to join the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership for its next meeting on Thursday, April 8 at 2:00 PM. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to set the timeline for implementation of the Spring Creek Watershed Protection Plan and to decide on which strategies for water quality improvement to include in the plan. Register at https://springcreekpartnership.weebly.com/.

Contact person is rachel.windham@h-gac.com.

Thursday, October 8 – 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This online meeting will bring area stakeholders together to begin developing a Watershed Protection Plan that will outline locally-supported, voluntary strategies for reducing sources of pollution in Spring Creek and its tributaries. At this meeting, stakeholders will have the opportunity to give feedback on data analyses, and steering committee members will be selected to guide partnership decisions.

You can register for the meeting now at the Partnership’s website. For more information, contact Rachel Windham at rachel.windham@h-gac.com or 713-993-2497. Because this is an early stage in the Partnership’s work, it is an excellent opportunity to make your voice heard.

This posting is the update that was referred to in Conservation Committee’s report during the July 8 monthly meeting.

By participating in the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership, you can have a positive impact on multiple issues that affect water quality in the creek, which is often used by paddlers, and is an important tributary of Lake Houston (a major source of drinking water for our area).

The first (online) meeting for the Partnership will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Learn more by visiting the website, or by contacting Rachel Windham at rachel.windham@h-gac.com or 713-993-2497. New members are warmly welcomed at any point during the work of the Partnership, but the earlier that you come on board, the more chances you will have to make a difference.
