HOUSTON CANOE CLUB GENERAL MEETING
Bayland Park Community Center
Commodore Ken McDowell called the meeting to order.
Officers were introduced, and new members and visitors were introduced and welcomed.
The Safety Minute was given by Harmon Everett on the importance of having participants' cell phone numbers on a shuttle in case of problems.
The program speakers were club members Joe Coker, Ken Anderson, Dana Enos and John Rich on their trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area last fall. Dana gave an introduction to the area. Joe and Ken discussed what gear to take. John added his comments, and Joe narrated a slide show of 183 slides showing their trip. As the program lasted almost untill 9:00 there was no business meeting.
There were about 35 people attending the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned to Jax restaurant for dinner.
