Hi Folks,
If you are reading this,
then you are no doubt enjoying another issue of the Waterline, the showcase of the Houston Canoe Club. I know you share
my appreciation of Linda Gorski, John Rich and the many contributing authors
and photographers who make it happen. It also means you are enjoying our new
website, so thanks to Greg Walker and all you others for helping to make his
happen.
2010 has been another great
year, highlighted for me by the continuing generosity of our members. With all
you folks giving time and treasure, it’s easy to see why the Houston Canoe Club
is so well respected in the paddling community. I can’t say enough about my
fellow officers who work so tirelessly and faithfully to conduct the business,
organize community outreach, and contribute to special events. Our trip leaders are the heartbeat of the
club, those folks with so much passion around paddling they go out of their way to share the joy of
paddling. Finally, I would like to offer special recognition to our
Conservation Committee, chaired by John Bartos. I am very proud of all those
who serve on this committee, you continue to have a disproportionate effect on
conservation issues in Texas and beyond.
It is a distinct privilege to serve as the Commodore, and I can’t
tell you how much I appreciate your support. I’m looking forward to a safe,
fun, and active New Year.
Regards,
Ken McDowell |
