Ready to go

We launched from the Arlie Moore boat launch and followed the shoreline.  The objective of this trip was a shoreline cleanup – anything we could reach with our new retrieval devices, and wherever there was a lot of stuff out of reach, get out and collect it.

We collected a lot of cans and plastic bottles, some broken glass, styrofoam cups, a headband, a hat, a child’s facemask, fishing lures and floats, underwear, a shoe, a tube, a beach ball, a diaper, and more.

Partially emptied haul

The wind was blowing so hard that we decided to go back to our starting point that was just across from us and police that shore from the land.  Then we simply dragged our kayaks up the slope instead of going around the point to the ramp.

LESSONS LEARNED:

Maybe don’t believe the weatherman when it comes to the wind forecast
