HCC Membership Meeting - Nov. 12th 2025..

Meeting started - 7:02

 

Club Officers present :  Brent H., Christy L. ,Bruce B., Tyrone W. 

Harmon and Dutch contributed from Zoom online along with Kent from Arkansas.

 

Last Meeting minutes seconded by Christy L. and Harmon E. 

 

Our Bosun officer Tyrone W. reports these new members for November : Jessica Wang, Matthew Wang, and Murphy Lowe. He also reported renewing members: Amanda Hughes Orren, Brett Hwang, Charles Falk, Christy Long, Steve Long, Constantine Platon, Georgette Falk, John Rich, Naomi Brown, Natalie Wiest, and Keith Pel.  The club has 128 active members and 1070 Facebook followers.

 

Dutch presents some details about the purser, Tracy’s recent illness and presents the clubs financial report.

 

Thanks to our special committee members Alice Nissen and Frank Ort for their dedication to locate 2026 HCC Club leadership of the following officers;  Natalie Wiest for Commodore, Christy Long for Vice Commodore, Tyrone White for Membership Bosun, Tracy Becker as Purser, Bruce Bodson as Fleet Captain, and Mike Grove as Recorder.

 

The club passed a vote to approve purchase of a website SSL security certificate for the next five years at $ 50 per year to ensure that visitors at public libraries can access the HCC website. 

 

Christy L. our fleet captain covered a few trip reports including a multi-day trip on the Current River led by Kent Walters.

Monthly Presentation : Clint Robertson he is a statewide coordinator for freshwater mussel conservation for the state of Texas who gave a fabulous speech on the habitat and health of our ‘livers of the rivers’.
