 Description:

While alligator attacks are actually rare in Texas, still they did happen. According to news reports, earlier this month, May 2024, a police officer in Cleveland, Texas was bitten by a 10-foot gator while trying to remove it from a roadway. Just yesterday, May 29, there were reports of a suspicious case where a missing person's body was found in the jaws of an alligator, although right now police is still investigating the case. It is sad. It underlines the risks of possibly dangerous encounter of "Things That Bite" in the field where we paddle and do other outdoor activities we all love. "Things That Bite" is our special presentation topic of the month! Again, the presenter is one of own beloved trip leader Joe Coker.

This time, he will lead us for a quick look at critters that could harm or at least shake us up!  He will emphasize on what, where, when and why, and measures we should take. Joe likes to say, "Greater awareness = Greater Safety".

Be sure to set this date aside on your calendar, then come out and support your club.
