Some of you long time members may remember our fellow paddler, RayDriscoll. Ray helped out on early Rendezvous and ran for and was elected as a City of Houston Council member.

There was one memorable trip I will never forget where Ray was a participant. It was billed as a Beaujolais Nouveau overnight trip on Village Creek after Thanksgiving. While camping on an island on the creek, some of our members (not me or Ray) may have tasted a bit much of the new wine.  Ray was a good guy and will be missed.

From the Obituary:
Ray did not want a funeral, so the family will celebrate privately on his next birthday. Ray was all about family, a strong work ethic, serving the community, mentoring and giving back. So, in lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the charity of your choice, including any of the above organizations in which he was involved – or, please honor him by donating some of your time helping others in need and in your community – and please enjoy time with your family and loved ones.
