Houston Canoe Club General Meeting - 5/11/2022

Speaker: Rachel Windham, Planner, Houston-Galveston Area Council

Description: Commodore, Natalie Wiest says, "Ever wondered about those clamshells all over our putin location at Lake Charlotte? They are the shells from Rangia clams, some of them perhaps hundreds of years old, the detritus of ancient Native American feasts. Rachel Windham of the Houston Galveston Area Council will fill us in on the Rangia. They were a preferred food of the first peoples. She will tell us more about their current status, why they are not a staple in our seafood diets today. Come and be informed, be curious no more."
