Speaker: Louis Aulbach & Linda Gorski Description: Louis Aulbach and I will present our program on paddling the Great Unknown of the Rio Grande. The meeting is free of charge and open to the public. The Great Unknown, called the Despoblado by early explorers, is a remote portion of the river that runs approximately 76 miles from Santa Elena Canyon to Rio Grande Village and includes the magnificent Mariscal and Boquillas Canyons. In addition to taking you on a virtual paddle down the Rio Grande, we'll be highlighting the archeology, history and geology of the area. We'll also bring copies of our paddling guides to the rivers and bayous of Texas including the Rio Grande, the Devils, the Pecos and Buffalo Bayou. Check them out at this link: http://lfa.epperts.com/ Hope to see you there!!!! Louis Aulbach Linda Gorski Be sure to set this date aside on your calendar, then come out and support your club.
