2017 Officer Candidates
November, 2016
by Christy Long
The Nominating Committee presents the Slate of 2017 HCC Officers:
Commodore - Honey Leveen - Commodore for one year, Committee chair for 50th anniversary, Boatswain for 4 years. Supportive of club members and activities Honey has a positive can do attitude.
Vice Commodore - Open
Fleet Captain - Natalie Wiest - first year holding office-fine job as fleet captain (with one arm tied to her side). She goes out of her way to follow through on her commitments.
Boatswain - Paul Woodcock 2003, 2004, 2005 as Governor; 2009 Boatswain, 2011 Fleet Captain. Paul has shown his support for the club by accepting positions in the club, by leading great trips, and by sharing his knowledge during meetings.
Purser - Kent Walters, in June of 2016, became the club's purser, after Bob Naeger who left the great state of Texas to live closer to his precious grandkid. Kent has not held an HCC position on the board but he has shown his club support by leading trips.
Newsletter Editor - John Rich in 2009 three people took up the position of newsletter editor but by 2011 only John held the position. This has been a blessing to the club and I think to the board in general. He is prompt and dependable and goes beyond his Newsletter duties by updating the website with the Club's history.
Recorder - Frank Ohrt held this position with three other people in 2014, in 2015 he held it alone and we have enjoyed his continuous special type of humor ever since.
Conservation Chair and Webmaster are appointed by the Commodore.
The nominating committee will ask for nominations from the floor at the November meeting.
