2.

Membership Report: Terry reported that the club has 1 new member family.

3.

Picnic report: Terry reported that waivers will be available to sign at Lake 288 for those non-club members. The cost for members is $15.00 which is the fee for Lake 288. An additional $5.00 will be charged to non-members due to the cost of the waiver.

4.

Trip reports: Natalie discussed trips that are currently scheduled as well as future proposed trips.

The current trips include:
09/12 – Batty Night
10/01 – Jr. Water Safari
10/02 – Luces Bayou
10/15 – Cedar Bayou
10/23 – Anahuac or Oyster Creek

Natalie also has drafted a Trip Leader Checklist.

The Octpaddle Weekend in Huntsville will not be a posted trip. Discussion ensued regarding posting unofficial trips on the Club’s Forum. Folks can post but these are not to be considered “official” trips. These trips will NOT count toward the mileage awards.

5.

Programming Report: Fran discussed the upcoming meeting programs to include John Bartos (September) speaking about Caddo Lake, Kim Head (October) speaking about the Canadian Galapagos, and Tom Douglas (November) speaking about Lake Charlotte. There will not be a meeting in December as we will have our Holiday Party. To start the new year, Kent Walters will discuss how to choose an appropriate boat. Beth Johnson will speak at some point next year according to her availability. She is checking her calendar and will let us know. She remembers her last visit to the club fondly!

6.

Safety minute/Paddle minute: Natalie propose that we have a “technical” minute and watch a video clip of the C Races. The purpose is to analyze the “Pitch J” for stroke improvement.
