Harmon Everett
Commodore Pro Tem |
Harmon Everett, serving as Commodore Pro Tem (bless his heart), called the meeting to order. He announced that the presentation would be on the Texas Water Safari, and noted that the HCC was founded by two of the first participants in the Safari. He introduced himself and the other officers. Honey Leveen (Commodore) and Ann Derby (Sergeant-at-Arms) were absent.
Harmon gave the Safety Minute, concerning poison ivy and how to get it off of you before it’s too late.

Harmon explained (again) the necessity of getting signed liability waivers from participants on all HCC/ACA sanctioned paddling trips. Stop complaining; it’s not that hard.

Harmon and Newsletter Editor John Rich announced that John has posted a Trip Report Master Index on the club website. John then accessed a preview of the upcoming newsletter for a link to a 1930’s film short about canoe tricks. It gave the members ideas about some Stupid Human Tricks that they might attempt after adult beverages.
