Maneuver the Cypress Tress in Caddo Lake, with John Bartos
Come on out and learn the “in’s and out’s” of Caddo Lake with our HCC resident expert, John Bartos. He has been visiting this “East Texas Treasure” for almost 30 years. He will discuss the history, paddling, birding, area highlights, challenges and the mystery of Caddo Lake – plus a special surprise! There are over 50 miles of paddling trails, a “few” alligators and some geocaching, if you’re so inclined.
Caddo Lake is the only true lake in Texas.
John has been the past commodore of the Houston Canoe Club in 1989, 1990 and 2000. He has been an active member in environmental concerns such as the Galveston Bay Foundation (Chair – 1996), a member of the Region H Water Planning Group (for 20 years!) and the current president of the Houston Audubon Society. And, as John states, “in his spare time a Houston Attorney”.
I had asked for recommendations for presenters and you have given me excellent suggestions. John was one of the folks at the top of the list!
