 Have you thought about leading a trip but had some reservations concerning paperwork, logistics, coordinating? Then come on out and spend some time with our very own Natalie Wiest – HCC Trip Coordinator, dog trainer, author and former Librarian at Texas A & M. She has a vast amount of experience with trip planning, paddling adventures and whitewater competition (back in the day), and will share ideas and thoughts on how to make planning a trip more accessible.
Natalie’s focus on March’s program will be “How to run a Successful Trip”. The aim of our program is to encourage more of our members to lead trips. Natalie is going to walk us through the website, give us the tools to make planning easier and focus on safety and securing contact/medical information from our trip participants.
These are some highlights from Natalie’s talk:
• How to navigate our HCC website for trips
• Liabilities and waivers – how to get the information and expedite the paperwork
• A checklist of Items to take on various types of trips
• A suggested List of places to paddle
• Medical emergencies
• How to prepare – checking out the put in/take out and shuttle
• PLUS – pictures and tales from former trips!!
