Paddlers on Canberra's lake were baffled by the sight of the man and his bizarre vessel, which has been decorated with brightly-coloured plastic flowers..."

"Sturgeon jumps on boat, kills girl, 5, and injures two others" (Suwannee River, FL)
"Florida officials are investigating a sturgeon strike that killed a 5-year-old girl and injured her mother and older brother.
All three were on a boat on the Suwannee River in Dixie County Thursday night when a huge sturgeon jumped out of the water and smacked into them. The fish are known for leaping more than 7 feet above the water. They can grow up to 8 feet long and weigh up to 200 pounds..."

"Boat rescues stranded canoers in Brazos River" (Sugar Land, TX)
"Two teenagers were rescued by the Richmond Fire Department after their canoe was stuck in the Brazos River. Aerials from Sky 2 showed that the canoe was stuck on the top of a tree limb.
The Sugar Land Police Department said the two teenagers were between 17 to 19 years old. They called emergency officials as soon as they became stuck and waited it out..."
