Matt Singer |
We are pleased to announce that Matt Singer, Land Steward Manager of the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) will be the speaker at our March 11, 2015 Houston Canoe Club meeting.
Throughout his life, Matt has had a deep love for the outdoors and great personal respect for fish, wildlife, and the natural resources that support them.
He earned his BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences form TX A&M in 2005 and spent 4 ½ years as a wildlife biologist in Florida before joining the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) in 2010. While in Florida he worked with high profile threatened and endangered wildlife species. He also worked with landowners there to develop comprehensive plans for wildlife management and habitat restoration.
As Galveston Bay Foundation’s (GBF’s) Land Stewardship Manager, Matt focuses on restoring and enhancing native coastal habitats and acquiring new properties for conservation purposes.
In his talk to us, Matt will describe the GBF’s mission and give us an overview of what the GBF does. He will make this relevant by telling us about the hiking, birdwatching and boat launching opportunities GBF provides.
We hope you will attend what is sure to be an interesting and informative program!
