Description:
Jim Robertson is chairman of the Cypress Creek Greenway Project, run by the Cypress Creek Flood Control Coalition.  His presentation for the meeting will be an overview and update of the Cypress Creek Greenway Project.

The Cypress Creek Greenway Project's goal is to create a linear, continuous greenbelt along Cypress Creek and Little Cypress Creek extending over 40 miles from the Harris-Waller County line west of US 290 to the east where Cypress Creek joins Spring Creek. The Greenway will connect existing and future anchor parks along Cypress Creek. It includes a multi-use trail system that will pass through the anchor parks and link to adjacent trails extending into local communities. The BPA (Bayou Preservation Association) is leading the effort on Cypress Creek to develop a paddling trail which will extend from Telge Park downstream to US 59, a distance of over 30 miles.

Among many other things, the project includes the installation of a number of new canoe launch sites along the Greenway.  Since Cypress Creek is such a popular paddling venue, Mr. Robertson’s remarks will be particularly interesting and informative for the Club.
