Web Site Expenses

The below message was received from ClubExpress, the web host for the Houston Canoe Club web site. It starts out sounding rather ominous, but ends up on a good note.
Over the past couple of months, we have been conducting a detailed review of the rates we charge clubs and associations for our services. This review has been based on a number of factors, including market changes, support effort, bandwidth and server usage statistics, etc. With this email, we are announcing new rates.
The good news is that your monthly fee is going down! Your membership is in the range of 101-250 active primary members. In this range, your rate is being lowered from $0.40 to $0.36 per primary member per month. This reduction takes effect immediately, with today's billing for August. Note: the fee for secondary members continues to be 1/2 of the fee for a primary member. And there is still no fee for tertiary members or non-members in your database.
The new pricing schedule can be found at http://www.clubexpress.com/pricing.
Thank you for using ClubExpress. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to help you fulfill your mission and programs. We have some terrific new features and services in the pipeline and will continue to work diligently to enhance the product and support your use of ClubExpress.
Regards, Dan Ehrmann, President ClubExpress
With about 150 primary members, this rate reduction will lower the Houston Canoe Club's web site cost by about $6 per month. That's not much, but when you expect fees for anything to go in only one direction, up, then an actual reduction, no matter how small, is a pleasant surprise.
