NL-2011-10 Brazos Cleanup
Brazos River Cleanup
July 30
by Charles Zipprian
As part of a community project, on Saturday, July 30, 2011, several members of the Houston Canoe Club helped a team of volunteers from a local business clean up the underpass at the Brazos River and Interstate-10 bridge near San Felipe.
The HCC members were Colin Simpkins, Charles and Daniel Zipprian. The day’s events were to help the community and allow volunteers to experience the pleasures of traveling down river via kayaks and canoes.
Once we filled 20 trash bags with bottle, cans, and other trash we paddled down the Brazos. A total of 15 volunteers made the paddle trip with the majority of them being novices to paddling.
