About this event
This trip is part of the Spring Creek Christmas Bird Count, which encompasses much of Spring and The Woodlands.
If weather and water conditions allow, plan A is to paddle 8 to 11 miles downriver, along the San Jacinto’s West Fork from Magnolia Bend to Texas Tollway 99. Car shuttling expected.
However, in the event of overly low water conditions on the West Fork, plan B, is to paddle around Lake Holcomb Recreation Area, a drowned sand pit located in the Falls of Imperial Oaks subdivision.
The destination will be decided upon the day before, and the trip coordinator will inform everyone by email at 8pm on Friday, December 19.
Launch site for Lake Holcomb is Imperial Promenade Park.

As this is a birding event, participants are encouraged to be as quiet as possible when on the water, and to bring binoculars if they have them.
