Escape the haunted Houston for an unforgettable outdoor experience as we explore the serene waters of Martin Dies, Jr. State Park! Whether you're a seasoned paddler or just dipping your paddle in for the first time, this trip promises scenic beauty, wildlife sightings, and good company.

Available TPWD paddling trails

• Walnut Slough Trail – Calm waters and lush surroundings, perfect for a peaceful float.
• Sandy Creek Trail – Meandering through majestic cypress groves and shaded backwaters.
• Neches River Trail – A more adventurous route with swift currents and wide-open views.

Campsite Details:

• Electric & Water Hookups – Most sites are conveniently located adjacent to the launch areas, however depending on the specific camp site you may need to transport a few hundred yards to the launch area.
• Shared Sites – We'll be camping together, so bring your gear and your stories!
• Camp-Style Cooking – Fire up your camp stove or share a grill—we’ll be cooking and dining under the stars.

Date & Time:

Arrive anytime Friday Oct 31^st and Leave Sunday Nov 2^nd.  Please note access to the camp sites start at 2 PM on Friday and ends at Noon on Sunday.

What to Bring:

• Canoe or kayak (rentals may be available if needed)
• PFD and paddles
• Camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc.)
• Food and cooking supplies
• Bug spray, sunscreen
