About this event

A relatively short (20.50 miles) paddle on the Brazos. This stretch is free of any major hazards and a generally easy paddle. This section does have the location where the steamboat Yellowstone met Sam Houston's army and ferried them across the river near Bernardo Plantation. It is also the local where the Twin Sisters canons were delivered to the Texian army prior to the Battle of San Jacinto. It is reputed to still contain the very rock Sam used to stand on and pee in the river after his morning coffee. Could just be a rumor.

We will meet at the downstream end of the segment, on the east bank of the river at FM 529 at 0800 and then shuttle back up to the put in on the west bank of the river at SH 159.

If you would like to attend this paddle, please let me know!
