Paddle for the Wild at Pickett’s Bayou

About this event

Walk for the Wild” is an event coordinated locally by Friends of Trinity River Refuge and nationally by the Public Lands Alliance. Its goal is to increase awareness of and engagement with our nation’s Wildlife Refuges.

Many will observe the day with a 5K hike, but we will do our 5K trip on Pickett’s Bayou (actually between 6 and 7K) by boat. Paddling time is 2-3 hours. Because the bayou’s banks are forested, it is relatively well protected from wind.

Participants must provide their own canoe or kayak, paddles, life jackets (one per person required to be worn), lunch, and plenty of drinking water.

Trip details will be sent to registrants by email.
