Early morning survey of bird life and other happenings before it heats up on the shores of the Shouse Ford area - maybe check out the Simonson Biological Field Station.

Meet at 6:30 AM at the end of Red Wings Road (Hwy 4). This is a few miles west of the HWY 7 / 84 intersection in Bismarck. Turn left off of HWY 84 just past Big Hill Creek onto Red Wings Rd. at the thriving metropolis of Lambert (don't look for a town sign - or anything else but the road).

Plan for a leisurely 3-5 miles.

Bring kayak, PFD, paddle, water, snack, hat, sunglasses, and anything else that will make your time on the water enjoyable.

ALTERNATE VENUE: "The Swamp" (the regeneration Lake waterfowl refuge)
