Pickett’s Bayou Boat Ramp, Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge near Old River-Winfree, TX.

This will be an out-and-back paddle down Pickett’s Bayou in conjunction with the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge’s “Walk for the Wild” event. Difficulty level: Moderate. Total Distance: 6-8 miles. Duration: 5 hours. Details and driving directions will be sent to registrants by email.

Be sure that you have completed your HCC Waiver at https://form.jotform.com/JLAagency/houston-canoe-club-waiver before October 7.

Optional Activity Before the Paddle: The Refuge’s “Walk for the Wild” event will begin at 9:00 AM. This is a fine opportunity to visit the restored log-construction Lodge building and the Butterfly Garden. Then, come on over to the Pickett’s Bayou boat launch at 10:00 AM.
