The waterways of the Greens Bayou Watershed provide recreational, economic, and environmental benefits to our local communities. Because of ongoing water quality issues, Greens Bayou does not meet minimum quality standards set by the state of Texas to protect the health of local communities and the environment. To address these issues, the Greens Bayou Watershed Partnership will develop and implement the Greens Bayou Watershed Protection Plan. This non-regulatory planning effort is being supported by the project partners, the Houston-Galveston Area Council, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Input from paddlers and others who recreate along Greens Bayou will be warmly welcomed. Your participation can make a difference.
