Houstonians mark time by storms and floods. From Allison to Tax Day and from Harvey to Imelda, our region has experienced more than a dozen significant flooding events in the past 25 years. Harris County Flood Control District’s Proposition A is a proposal on the ballot for the November 5 election to increase investment in flood infrastructure. If approved by voters, additional maintenance funding would provide for infrastructure repairs to our channel network, including sediment removal, erosion repairs, and concrete replacements.
Additional maintenance funding provides resources for continued investments in reliable and stable flood infrastructure. Harris County Commissioners Court unanimously approved this measure to seek voter approval for additional investments for flood infrastructure maintenance.
Two virtual public meetings will be held on Wednesday 10/16 at Noon and on Thursday 10/17 at 6:30 PM. You can learn more about Proposition A and access links to the virtual meetings at https://www.hcfcd.org/Activity/Maintenance-Programs/Flood-Control-District-Proposition-A.
