Hi folks! On October 26, Houston will have its first ever “witch paddle” (see NYT article on the phenomenon here).
We’re going to paddle from 610 to Allen’s Landing down Buffalo Bayou on Sat 10/26 - 9 miles, so ~3 hours of paddling ending right in Downtown Houston! Chad Brown, who's a frequent kayak trip group leader, is also helping organize.
The plan is then to raise a glass to celebrate at McIntyre's, which overlooks Allen's Landing. I'm planning it as a one-way paddle, though folks are of course welcome to make their own shuttle arrangements or paddle back. All craft welcome - I'll be on a SUP, others will be in kayaks or canoes.
You're kindly requested to come in some form of spooky costume! It should be quite a scene as we paddle through downtown - wizards + witches floating on the water.
