This is a rare paddling trip combined with a multi-day car camping experience at Galveston Island State Park. If interested, please register early in case we need to set up an additional campsite or a co-leader.
EVENT: Car camping and paddling at Galveston Island State Park
DATE: Nov 1-3, historical average temperature: High of 72, low of 50
ACCOMMODATION: Water-only Bayside campsite for up to 8 people
PADDLING TRAILS: Three trails ranging from 2.6 to 4.8 miles, with calm/shallow waters protected by breakwaters, and abundant biodiversity in the area known as Birder's Paradise.
You do not need to stay for the entire three days. However, some of us will set up camp on Friday afternoon and go for a paddle in the evening before dinner. We will then complete the remaining two trails on Saturday and return home on Sunday, with an optional morning paddle.
