Dear Fellow Paddlers,
Congratulations on the upcoming celebration of the club’s 60th anniversary! Sixty years ago, the founding members recognized the joy and camaraderie that come from paddling together, laying the foundation for what has become a remarkable tradition in the Houston Canoe Club’s history. Please join us on October 6th for this special occasion as we gather to celebrate the Club’s milestones, reconnect with past and current members, listen to a talk by the world-renowned guest speaker Wes Hansen, and enjoy dinner and a raffle.
Today, the club continues to infuse new ideas and enthusiasm into this legacy of adventure and community. As we reflect on our past accomplishments, I encourage you to lead the Houston Canoe Club into the next century of exploration and friendship. Focus on projects and events that promote the sport of paddling, water safety, environmental stewardship, and the love of paddling within our community and beyond.
I would be remiss if I did not offer special congratulations as we gather to celebrate not only 60 years of paddling adventures but also the club’s cumulative impact on paddling communities across Texas and the countless service hours dedicated to local conservation and protection efforts.
As we celebrate these important milestones, remember that the responsibility for the Houston Canoe Club lies with each of us.
