Our City, County, and Flood Control District jointly hold a permit from the US EPA for the management of stormwater. Despite a requirement that the permit be reviewed every 5 years, it hasn’t been updated since 2009. In response, Bayou City Waterkeeper has requested specific updates to the permit that would:
► respond to community concerns
► reduce trash and industrial pollution
► support funding for “green infrastructure”
► increase transparency and enforcement of regulations
A letter specifically outlining needed changes and a petition of support that can be signed by concerned persons are posted online. Please give these a look and consider signing on if you agree.
